This page lists the soldiers whose unpublished letters/writings form part of the narrative.
The other letters and accounts came from wartime editions of the various county newspapers (Highland, Brown, Ross, and Clermont). These papers are on microfilm at the Ohio Historical Center. The chapter table of contents list what newspaper is the source for these letters/writings.
To the best of my knowledge, none of the letters/writings on this site have been published before. The only exceptions are W. H. Glenn's account of the March to the Sea and J. F. Hill's prison escape story. Both of these appeared as National Tribune articles in the 1880s; however, the versions I used are the ones published in the county newspapers during the war.
